Bloomex Gives Back to Women's Shelters on Valentine's Day Print E-mail
February 8, 2011

OTTAWA—This Valentine's Day Bloomex Canada will be donating flowers to several women's shelters in major cities across Canada. At Bloomex we know that Valentine's Day can be one of the most joyful times of the year, but also one of the most difficult.

According to the Canadian Women's Foundation, 51% of Canadian women have experienced at least one incident of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16. For many women, the only place to seek refuge is at a women's shelter.

At Bloomex, we recognize that every woman deserves to feel special, at all times, and especially on Valentine's Day.

"Women are some of our best customers," said Dimitri Lokhonia, president of Bloomex. "We want to communicate the message of love, care, and sympathy to women in shelters. Shelters are places where women can call home, and get their feet back on the ground. We are specifically targeting women's shelters because they provide resources and permanent housing for women that have been challenged with abuse, unemployment, or homelessness."

"At Bloomex we care about all women," continued Lokhonia," and hope that by providing each woman with a rose on Valentine's Day, we will be providing a beacon of hope."

Shelters in Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Halifax, Montreal and Vancouver will be receiving flowers from Bloomex this Valentine's Day.
